Chin Stroker VS Punter
Episode 6- I, Robot

It’s Paul’s pick, and we bring you a look at Alex Proyas’ 2004 Sci Fi actioner ‘I, Robot’ Is it a meditation on the place of technology in everyday life, and our our over-reliance on it is sapping us of our humanity? Or is it just Big Willie Style© dumbass fest with more than a passing visual resemblance to ‘Minority Report’ and offensive levels of product placement? Or is it neither? These questions will be probed, inspected and often avoided completely. And in an attempt at thematic cohesion we take a look at how technology has changed the way we view films.

Episode 5- In the Mood for Love

Episode 5 is a 'kick off' as the lads discuss 'In The Mood For Love' which proves controversial to say the least. The merits of style over substance is examined, and we sound off about Shia-hating, the 'real' Indiana Jones and the sad future of New Line Cinema. Oh, and SORRY GREGG! We love ya buddy!

Episode 4- Alexandra's Project

This weeks episode Is a bit of a controversial one! Paul and Mike turn into relationship experts as they Dissect Alexandra's Project and possibly realise the reason why they are both single!!  Also up for discussion are the lads thoughts on theatrical cuts vs directors cuts and why they are sliced to begin with. Why are married chicks so crazy? Plus with growing trend of splitting movies into 2 halves as Kill Bill did and Harry Potter is about to, is this cynical money-making or a genuine artistic choice?  All these burning questions and many more will be discussed (and sometimes even answered) in this edition of chinstroker vs punter...

Note: This episode was downloaded from the former mypodcast.com site. Unforuately, this is one of the two or three episodes that mypodcast cut off before the end. The film discussion is intact, but it will cut off during the listener feedback section (around the time that Mike starts talking about the new Harry Potter film--damn you Voldemort!).

Episode 3.1: Rear Window, Part 1

Paul gets opinionated and Mike gets defensive, in the first of our two part look at Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window. Is James Stewart a pervert or a detective? Does it translate to modern audiences? Does the story even really make sense? And just what the heckity WAS that dog digging up? All of these questions and more will, be probed, butchered, buried and dug up. Due to the epic running time, we’ve cut this down to two episodes...

Episode 2- Shinobi

In an episode almost as long as the film itself, listen to the chaps discuss Ten Shimoyama’s ‘Shinobi – Heart Under Blade’ (2005). Full of stealthy, CGI’d up goodness. Also we look forward to the rest of this years [2008] ‘season of the geek’ as Paul is quizzed about his expectations of this years tidle wave of genre releases.
